Had a paid trip to the big city today,so i got to do some running around for free.Had to haul in the Fire departments Crash truck, front wheel bearing was toast.
I picked up some old saws i had shipped from holidays, and saw a bunch of totes in the yard.Asked about them and was told they had 5 they couldn't return,so i offered to save them the tipping fees and take them away. I ended up with 7...001.JPG even better, and the story gets better. But there is only 5 on the truck.I have an add looking for saws so i had an appointment to look at a couple of Huskys. As i walk into his yard i see a couple of totes full of oil, smelled like veggi oil. So he digs out the saws a 394 full wrap and a 288 in rough shape002.JPG 004.JPG How much i ask...he says the 394 quite while he was using it and the 288 is supposed to run. How about a trade i ask... he says what? I offer a tote per saw and we shook hands. The totes wern't even on my truck for an hour.Wait it gets better i got home and had to pull the muffler on the 394 just because, and it looks good inside.022.JPG

I helped a friend get his quad going and some saws tuned up, plus helped him buck up a bunch of firewood..so he gave me this, clutch was seized to the crankshaft and completely shot, had to cut make a couple of relief cuts and some heat but got it off! So kind of a free 660! Lol75094F98-D2CB-43E2-8138-C910524D965A.jpeg
So I put a new clutch and drum, plus a new meteor piston, cut .040 out of the band and epoxied up the intake, 200psi and 100/125/81 and some new China plastic and oem badge4DFECE41-7D63-4CED-8E01-DBBF6EBCE5A5.jpegFDBEC420-8548-4137-B74F-0003A722A9F8.jpeg

Picked up this pretty nice fs80av for $10. Not a chainsaw but it is a Stihl. Runs but needs a fuel system clean up and redo really bad. Already have the carb in the sonic bath. haha View attachment 123911 View attachment 123912
I have one of those I’m messing with too. Tag from stihl dealership said “motor locked up/no good.”
Spent about two minutes and realized the coil was against the flywheel. A few parts were robbed from in for other projects, I’m guessing. Needs a muffler, trimmer head, and a fuel system rework

I want a Dolmar dealer like that, would even agree to go on road trips to neighboring countries for deals like that!

Mufflers are overrated, don't You read the related threads - but if You really want one fabricate a muffler flange and weld a piece of pipe to it and call it muffler modded.
Trimmer head should be easy, as should the rework of the fuel system.

044, metal badge, nice condition fire department saw, red lever, KS 10mm, slant fin, piston and cylinder pristine, runner, carbide chain and crazy oddball bar with a relief towards the tip even though it is a hard nose.
