It would be alot on a OEM saw but who knows where the timing actually is on the chinese saws. It may be a bit much but as long as it don't pop in the cut I'll run it. It made a huge difference in throttle response and a much more aggressive sounding idle.Glad you found the timing problem and glad it is running well now, but a whole keyway ... that is a lot of advance!
.020 is about 5 or 6 degrees, and the key is usually about .078, so that is about 20 degrees of extra advance ... Ouch!
