Straight gassed 353, new 346 top end thanks to @old guy
Did a base delete .019 squish and added a second port to the non cat muffler and a hda 199 carb. I may do a timing advance, time will tell. Ran 1/2 through it, it's not even broken in obviously but I see what the 346 fuss is all about!

They sure are angry little buggers. Good combination of rpm and torque for a little saw.
Yep! Honestly I bet it's close to my 2159.
Thats a 18 inch bar 3/8 chain and it pulled it nicely. I don't have any .325 at the moment. But a 16 inch 3/8 set up might be where it's at.

If you want to try a .325 chain I highly recommend the stihl RS .325. By far the best cutting .325 imo and no silly double safety raker bs like most all the other .325 chain out there. Doesn’t last as long as 3/8 but it does good for a .325 chain. FABAD46B-D00F-4CDD-94AF-221E6F40F225.png

I've used it in the past on some other saws. Thanks for the recommendation though.

What's been done to the 2159, they do a great job too. Amazing the difference you see with just a couple basic mods, great gains.

Husky 345 for $10 bucks. Needed the recoil (“Easy Start” [emoji2960]) replaced.

Went ahead and put on a ‘big bore’ top end from Farmertec. Shabby casting.

Actually starts one pull and cuts great. [emoji15] .325” x 16” [emoji108]

Sorry no picture as Tapatalk is holding out for more money.

This saw of @ramrat turned out quite well, seems to have a good power and torque and cuts quite well, even out in frozen wood of winter it pulls quite well. It's a 2172 with a 372xpw cylinder and a CCC Wiseco piston from @Definitive Dave . I really liked the piston Dave had made here, even for a work saw blowing through screens it is a quality product that's made to last. I would definitively recommend them again(pun intended) for the ultimate work saw builds. Yeah they are for racing too, but if you want the best, this is the best there is.

Some times it takes some time before you get to port a certain model again, so I was pretty stoked to get to do the same saw as one I haven't seen in quite a while, a MS361 Stihl. So here's the vidja's of them both cutting frozen pine, the major difference being the chains. The early vidja is with a chit bar and a Stihl square chain, the present vidja is with a nice bar and a chit round ground chain, the square was self feeding, the round is being pushed on, both are running a 7 pin. I really liked how this "new" build turned out. :)
