I know the 242xp tecomec kits have been said to be a good quality, it's the only thing I have heard about that brand though.
Same here... We talked about the Tecomec 242 cyl kits pretty extensively in my 242 thread. I'd like to get one to put up on a shelf for my 242 at some point. Kind of a difficult "un-necessary" $150 expense to justify to the lady of the house though.

Just swung over to HL Supply and had a gander... Jeez, if you are considering giving Tecomec a try, kinda hard not to pass this whole kit up for the price! Even without the gaskets and seals, it seems the complete cylinder kit alone is a steal if they are as well made as I have been told. Grab it for the piston, shelf the cylinder for a rainy day. I've paid more for a stand-alone Meteor piston.

Never saw that last night.I was just looking at pistons since my cylinder is perfect. That’s a good deal but only thing is my 365 has bolt on intake. I could still use it probably just adapte a 372 intake to it.

The closed port uses the same intake as a 372 I believe.

Xtorq versions of the 365 and 372 intakes are different then the OE models, need different carb, intake and filter elbow to make the swap. Worthit though as the xtorq piston is way to heavy for the bottom ends and might as well split the cases and use 6202 bearings as well.

I see the kit I posted a link to is a 48mm with the 372OE/XPW style intake. Seems like an OE or XPW intake would be all that is needed to make that kit work if he wanted to try the cylinder? If he wanted to use his OEM cylinder, wouldn't the piston from that kit work?

Scored oem piston vs Tecomec
Tecomec is 10g heavier, looks good tho.
Overall it’s thicker

Being that you have an open port cylinder and me being a closed port snob of both old conventional and newer bottom fed style, I would get a 372OE/XPW intake boot and run the whole Tecomec kit. Then you can post a review of the whole Tecomec package.

Side note and not to hijack here, but seeing the price HL Supply is selling that Tecomec 365 kit for had my hopes up that they are now offering the same for the 242 at a lesser price than Lil Red Barn's $150 plus shipping. Checked the 242 section...no such luck :(

Almost seems as though Lil Red Barn is the only show in town on those Tecomec 242 kits as of yet.

I should add: I don't have any bad feelings toward Lil Red Barn. I have bought a couple pistons from them now and the buying experience has been great with zero complaints. Just continuing to keep my ear to the ground and shop around.

I’ve got a boot or two lol. Now you’ve got my wheels turning on the whole kit now. Dang it

Lmao. I’ve heard that a few times in your brothers posts/threads. I’ll make a decision soon hopefully. But I’ll still need to come up with some more parts to finish this build. Which ever piston or P/C I go with I’ll still have to get a clutch drum and gear , decomp or plug carb kit , low top filter elbow and a good hand full of screws that I don’t have so it’ll be a little while in the making to finish up
