The Grandkids loved the "quarter" shoot, and if the hit they had a souvenir!

RL 19 and RL 22 are both nice powders, but I stopped using them for hunting rounds because they are more sensitive to temp changes than IMR powders.
I stopped using H414 in my 300WSM for the same reason.

I like the quarter shoot souvenir idea...next time we’re shooting im definitely doing that.

My current Model 70 is in 270 WSM. I used to have a Featherweight in 270, but my brother uses that now.

The Ruger American in 30-06 is lighter than the WSM and more accurate than the Featherweight, even with hot loads, so it is my current hunting rifle of choice.

Speaking of wood stocks, I have an all wood Mini 14 (the top heat shield is wood, not plastic), and my 10/22 has the Deluxe stock. I paid $72 for it new back in the day! Now they want more than that for the trigger!

I have a featherweight 30-06 and it is by far my pickiest gun to load for. I imagine it’s because of the thin profile barrel. Now that I got it figured out it shoots great. My 300WSM is a M70 sporter and while it’s a little heavier it feels the best on my shoulder and I can hold it very steady off hand. It’s my favorite hunting rifle. I considered a 270WSM but after looking at load data it really doesn’t out perform the good old 270 Win by much at all.

Them mini’s are worth their weight in gold now days, nice little boom pop.

RL22 gave me the best velocity in a 300wsm with 208 AMAX. Sub MOA groups at 800 yards with it.

If you can find them the game battleship in shoot in see targets its a blast. 1/2” dots for target sizes. It’s real fun with pistols at 5-10 yards or open sight 22 rifles at 25 yards.

Thanks for the tip Mike. I’ve read that RL22 was actually made for short fat cartridges but I’ve yet to try it, didn’t know if it was just hype.

Target battle ship sounds awesome, I’ll be on the look out for that one.
