Regular bars are fine! Just wondering about the lite bars! Have to bore all the timber I cut. Mainly 28 and 32's. Haven't tried the lightweight bars in that length yet!

I’ve done a decent amount putting jacks, cutting blocks, and boards a 32 sugihara or Oregon isn’t an issue, now the 36 Oregon you have to watch it.

The 4 more inches makes that much of a difference? I was bucking a 32" dead Ash tree and had to bore cut several pieces to prevent pinching. No problems with the 32" Square filed chain.

Yes on an Oregon light weight, on a 32” light weight Oregon you can steer the bar a 36 will wander through a cut.

Prefer the 28” sugi for bore cutting over the 28” RW oregon I have. Stiffer. Both held up fine so far. I don’t have confidence in the 4 rivet 3/8 tsumura for bore cutting but that’s just imho. Haven’t used it as much as the sugi or oregon.

The oregon is just so friggin light it makes the floppy ness tolerable for me however. Just have to expect it. It wouldn’t take a hit as good as the sugi either probably.

The oregon light is nice on a 4-5cube saw like my ported 562 or 7900. I like the stiffer sugi on the 394/5.

Run that Tsumura until the tip blows.......

I have never heard of any problem at all related to strength of tip or rivots.
With Tsumura or Sugihara

My guess is they did it with a 4 rivet so the tip would be narrower for less kickback

I recall a post on here a couple months ago (anecdotally) from a feller who has a shop and sold a bunch of RW bars to some loggers who were doing bore cutting and commented that the 4-rivet tips did not hold up for them. His own personal one had no problems though. Can’t remember who said it or where I read it.

Well, the Stihl version has em beat on the number of rivets, anyway, if nothing else...

It was Walt who said it

http://opeforum.com/threads/three-husqvarna-562xp-builds-how-do-they-stack-up.9695/page-5

I had a few (8-10) go out to my folks I support, then the sprocket tips..then they quit taking them. Actually fine with me, I put the ones I have left on my Huztl saws and 562's! Of course most of what we have is hard wood here. Folks here find creative reasons to bore cut too it seems. Got that feed back from three folks, understand thats a small sample set but it was both quick and resolute. My Totals ( Tsumara's) are doing fine. But I'm neither as strong or as motivated as those who roasted the Tsumara's. Now Total is gone, and there is a new source of Sugi's for me so I don't really care. AND the new activity from Husqvarna and Oregon make it a moot point anyway..;)

I never paid attention to how many rivets on this tip. Looks like more then 4 on a 3/8 119dl. Cant tell anyone? Swear looks like 5-6 on this 3/8 bar.
All I know it was ran on a 2095 forever and then I ran it ( I dont bore cut much). Then I traded it to a guy that needed a bar for mill.

All I know is the smaller ones have 4 and no troubles for firewood cutters and most not bore cutting either.

3/8 tip 36" Tsu

Looks like the new 36 3/8 went 4. This older one appears to be 6
