stupid husqvarna 340 screw 503217321 M5x1.25?

on a husqv 450 saw the flywheel cover with the pullcord there are 4 coarse thread screws holding it on. Two had fallen out. Measured the existing and I thought I got M5x1.25 by 20mm long. Anyone know if that is correct? starting to get pissed trying to find a replacement.

I'm not sure, but they should be the same as the similar poulan saws. Are they sort of triangular at the threads?

Why not get new ones and a couple spares while You're at it.
It's a coarse thread screw like for plastic and wood, not metric!

Hmm. I thought I have a 340 converted to 346 hybrid but a Google search showed a poulan style saw.

I’ve had good results installing 5mm x .8 helicoils in plastic (Farm Boss ilk). Then you get cheaper screws at the local hardware store. [emoji108]

The other trick to fix striped out plastic screw holes, is to drip/melt/weld weed eater string into the holes.
