I've been looking at 260, 44.7mm pistons for a few weeks. I keep seeing " supposed" oem's pop up really cheap without the pin or clips. Tonight I saw a new "oem"one with black rings. That screams China, to
me. Any Stihl dealers here have a explanation how they could sell legit looking pistons without the rest of the parts?
I've seen it from several different sellers. Just seems weird to me.

No, I won't post a link. I'm not trying toss anyone under the bus, it could be legit. Just something I had noticed and wondered if dealers had any feedback on how it could happen.

I've bought several of these pistons. From different sellers. I've searched these items constantly and there have been a few bulk cases up for sale for $400+ in the same fashion you mentioned
I can't recall all those who I have bought from. I dare say I have bought more than 6 of these. The best price thus far has been $17.99 shipped.
(Incidentally I only use OEM needle cage, wrist pin bearings, and I keep a stock of the circlips in that size --OEM).
