would really like a total or super lite bar, but anything will be considered. Doesn't have to be real pretty, just have good life left in it. Thanks.

By "large mount", do you mean 14mm/3002/E031 mount? If so, .050 gauge might be hard to find... If you're looking for a "playtime" bar for the 084, I'd go with a .063 gauge hard nose; then you have more flexibility in chain selection (including 404 pitch).

I guess I should clarify...its for an 044...I forgot the 084, 088 etc took a different mount. I have a hard time figuring the different mounts that bars take. Medium size??

Thanks John and RI Chevy. I was looking for maybe a used total super light or something like that, but if I can't find one might as well go used Stihl or another brand. Maybe GB, who knows... Fordf150 has a good price in 2, but don't need 2 right now

Tom, there isnt to terribly much difference in weight when you drop down in length like your looking for.

I have a 3003 20" sugi but it was a deal I just couldnt pass. Paid roughly the same as an es.

If you check out the Comstock Logging facebook page they are selling a very nice bar that is made by Oregon in Japan exclusively for them and looks like a Sugihara. Guy I spoke with today said the bar metal is 10 times stronger than the metal used in the powermatch bars. It even comes with a special chain. They only offer it in 20" 3/8" .050 for now. $50. I bought one. It might be worth a looksee.

The first photo of that bar shows the unique skip tooth chain. Looks like every 3rd tooth is absent.

Well, I ordered it. Just went ahead and ordered ripping chain with it. We'll see how that chain does.

That looks like it would take a Tsumura replacement tip. Oregon bars are usually a single rivet. If I had to guess, I'd say that bar was made by Tsumura - they make bars for Total and Carlton as well.

That chain is a semi skip. The Stihl equivalent is 33 RSHK.
