My 10 year old FS90 just locked up and retired itself. Not worth fixing, it has more hours than my most wore out saw. Lol

Wondering if I should go with the FS94 for a lighter and conventional two stroke unit rather than the FS91. Want to stick with Stihl so I can use all the existing attachments. Any thoughts?

Stick that intermediate shaft on an FS 250.

If you run a Stihl you are resigned to lugging around unnecessary weight but this would be too much:)

I've never done it lol.

I'm looking to get into the Echo system.

Got the KM94 on order. Dealer tried to talk me into the 91 but I think going back to two stroke is a safe bet.

Less is more.

I thought Stihl only sold the 4 mix style now?

There’s a few different homeowner and professional two stroke trimmers now, not up on the models exactly though. I’m sure I’ll give up some torque the FS90 had but it should have enough. Old unit locked up so hard and fast the trimmer head spun itself off. Lol

I know when I was looking a few years years ago the only traditional 2 strokes at my dealer were the home owner stuff. All the pro line was 4 mix.

I had to pass on that grass.

Kind of glad to see a pro 2 stroke is still offered.

I have an fs94R and love it. Light and powerful enough for a string trimmer. I like the 4-mix for my Pole saw, but prefer the rpm of a two stoke for a weed wacker. I have an fs250R and it is way heavy and overkill for most stuff in my yard. Plus it vibes something awful.

I’m digging the lighter weight of a two stroke and haven’t noticed any power difference over the old FS90. So far all I’ve run is the paddle which can take a fair amount of power in deep wet gravel.

Really like the compact construction of the powerhead and solid feel of the controls. Never thought something so simple as a return to run style switch being so convenient, but they sure are.
