So I just picked up a well used 250R that I believe needs a carb. Runs very poorly hard to start. Is there anything else that I should do to it besides the carb and spark plug? Are all the carbs you can buy basically the same? (junk) I bought a tune up kit from Amazon to at least see if I can get it to run decent. Wish me luck

Some of the Zama carbs on those are JUNK!!! I bought mine new and after the warranty was up the machine wouldn't run upside down for trimming of idle consistently. I rebuilt the carb with no luck, had the dealer do it, no change. I have a new Zama for it but should have prolly saved the cheaper Chinese one as they both. one from freakin China anyway. Im not to fond of the vibes on that machine anyway and only find it useful on blackberries with a shredder blade.

The beast is alive!! Yes I put on a China aftermarket carb on it. It runs silky smooth for now time will tell on the carb definitely. It’s time to shred some brush with the motorcycle on a stick!! Haha (evil laughter)
I’ve wanted one of these beasts since running one 15 years ago at a golf course.
