Gday all I have been looking for a cheaper source of chain in AUS for a couple a months now
as the prices for good stuff here have gone stupid .... stihl $750 and carlton $550 :yikes:
so came across this stuff sold buy one of our biggest OPE mobs .

now when I said I got the loop to try it just looks like a chicom stihl clone , I said this and did
they get defensive or what and then started with their speel , we source all the links and cutters
from japan and the only Chinese input is assembly .

well as soon as I get over this virus I have I will go out and test it in some not so nice logs I have
and we will see , I hope its good stuff as at $300 a roll it could work out ok .......

any who some pics stihl on the left in 1st 2 pics..........

For over a year I've been running a rs clone chain.
No complaints at all
My friends run it now after trying mine.
Not by the roll but
11.00 a 20 inch loop when you buy 4
They don't offer longer loops or i would buy it.
Upstart

here a 20" 3/8 is $40 and carlton $35 the 404 I use ..... 24"404 semi chisel full comp is around $55
this is why you get a roll and not a loop

well looks like its crap ........ nowhere as good as carlton and as soft as oregon chain
once i put it on I set it tight for around 1 min of free revving to about 7000rpm and this iwas the result .
cs4.jpg

then did around 22 cuts in some hard clean wood in my back yard and wile it didn't stretch any more it was blunt and these were fire box size type wood so on that I would have resharpen about 4 times for a cubic meter of fire wood .
stihl and carlton I get 1 meter to 1 1/2 .
so I just have to shell out the clams :(

I use a fair bit of clone chain but mainly Stihl & Oregon rolls I bought ages ago when our dollar matched the USD. I don't mind some of it like the GB .404 roll I got (Carlton copy) and some Typhoon 3/8 loops I got. The real crap stuff will cut well if sharpened right but buy the time your half way+ through the chain they tend to stretch a lot. Don't know if our hardwoods are the cause or not but OEM chain here is a bit ridiculous nowadays in price so we need to consider some of these new offerings.

well this one is done for me will try an archer chain one day and if that don't hold up
I will just have to put up my wood prices and be done with it ......

and on the rolls from 6 years ago me too I used to get them 3 stihl at a time coz that's all
usps priority would put in a box because of weight ....
