Stihl 660 clone timing?

Hello Folks ...I am building a 660 clone from parts and notice that after I install the jug that the piston does not go all the way to the bottom of the exhaust port ...it sticks above just a bit ...is this normal fir a 660 or so I have a problem with the cylinder casting ?....thank you for the help
