I bought a low hour, clean 361 from a member a few months ago. I muffler modded it, removed the limiters and wanted to improve the oiling.

The 460r Oiler is a higher output Oiler that bolts on. However, it costs $93 from the dealership. I bought the piston 1128 647 0602 and the control bolt 1128 647 4803 from Ted.

I did modify the Oiler on my 036 using @huskihl posts, but figured I’d go factory on this one.

I couldn’t find a guide with pictures so I figured I would start one. 62471BF7-D8ED-45E4-9E39-95AD55A2F50F.jpeg

You have to drive the roll pin out to get the control bolt out. The 2 o-rings keep it in there pretty tightly. I used a channel lock to pull it out 5917E81C-8117-4C5B-9A47-D7A24912A46D.jpegyou can see the difference in the control bolts. The one with the 2 orings is the stock 361. You need to carefully remove the orings and put them onto the new control bolt 9883F3EE-B9B0-4844-BF9E-ADADE6142553.jpeg06F5385A-30FD-45B9-8F6B-711CF4B6AE05.jpeg you can see how the very top of the 460r control bolt is more offset.

B923AB09-D411-41FF-8EDE-8C043860DB52.jpeg The 460r piston is on the bottom. The picture doesn't show it very well, but the “scooper” part is deeper.

Grease up the orings on the control bolt and move the piston over enough so that you can push it back into the housing BBABCA20-3693-41A3-A977-E12CCED2071C.jpeg

That’s my electrical taped on tach. I guess I could shorten the wire at some point.

I’m still keeping an eye on the rpms after the muffler mod and removing the limiters.

I can't say I've paid super close attention to it but with a muffler mod and the the pump cranked open with the HO parts it seems pretty close.

Big cuts suck more fuel so maybe that's the variable...I'm not sure.

Honestly, if I were to do it again I would just grind the factory 361 parts. look up @huskihl .... I think he did a tutorial on modifying a 044 one? Please correct me if I’m wrong. This is basically the same concept. It would save you $40. It might not be exactly the same but I think the results would still be better than stock

I used his Method on my Hybrid and it turned out great.

You can easily grind the control bolt and piston with a dremel - carbide cutter and a few cut off wheels.
