What do you think of the 360 Echo? How's it compare to the 241 for smaller work?

I've been eyeing the Echo 361P. Or the 2511T. Tempting. I do like the 241 but the weight savings over my 261 are pretty small.

Still very new to me and breaking in. It is amazingly light, tho. And it runs pretty strong for it's cubes. I bypassed the cat in the muffler(but it is still in there). I want to reserve a review until the 350T non cat muffler arrives and I can give it a fair test. I like it, tho. Might get the 390SX for carving and other work as well.

Here's its 39cc brethren. An Echo 390ESX, AKA Shindaiwa 390SX. Sitting on a scale I normally use for food! It still has the cat in the muffler and a bit of oil in it, so expect it to be in the high 9lb range once that's out. It is light and small enough to warrant choosing over a 501SX/500P if ya just want a garden saw(though at least one guy on this forum uses it in forestry in Germany), and solid enough to feel good about using it in normal daily work(Aluminum handle and adjustable oiler FTW!). I'll have a review up shortly, and then I am gonna port it.
It cost me about 80€ less than my dealer cost is on a 501SX.

Too bad it has a cat in the muffler, what a PITA! Looks good otherwise.

It gets better. The tip of my 4mm hex wrench broke off in one of the exhaust bolts before it loosened. Wooo! Looks like I'll test it with the cat in it for a bit...

Uh... anyone know the best way to get a stuck hex bit out of a muffler bolt way deep inside a muffler? Mebbe if I run it for a little bit and stick an ice cold magnet to it...

BTW a whole ounce of crap was on that muffler including a bolt cover, metal spark screen gasket, spark screen, and 3 extraneous bolts. So it's basically a 10lb saw.

I’m having same issue. I called Stihl tech support today and was told it’s probably a bad module. If not then maybe bad solenoid but he thinks bad module as they’ve seen a lot of issues with them. Anyways to the dealer it goes tomorrow.

I have a 360 and it’s a dog compared to my ms-241. The 360 isn’t bad just in a completely lower class of saws.

OK, my bad! But that Dr. Al ported 360 Stihl is NICE!

How dare they use each other's #s!!!
Lol, I knew what you meant.
Don't forget stihl used the husky numbers too, the 261 :D.
Never ran a 360 he did, but I had a 260 here I had hoped he could do after running Coles, what a beast with a 20. The good thing is I have a ported 261, the orange and white one :).
