The coil you have is the CDIC coil (1122 400 1303). As long as it has spark, you're in good shape (it is a rev-limited coil though).

This will be a great build! I did something similar recently for my uncle who passed.

Thanks alot for info.

Brake has serial number 1122 792 9100

That break handle (1122 792 9100) was used in the past. It was replaced by 1122 790 9103 (064, 064 W) from serial no. 1 44 673 876 on. That change was near the end of 1999. This break handle is mounted in a rubber bushing at the fan side and secured with an IS M5 x 40 x 25 spline screw.

Did these have limited coils originally or is that a later replacement?

The 064 had the rev-limited CDIC set-up at the same time when the "Red-Light" 066 was in the line-up. The problem was, the metal-flywheel 066s
were breaking cranks on the flywheel stub shaft due to the very heavy 066 metal flywheel and people hitting the chain brake routinely while the
saw was still spinning. The inertia from the heavy flywheel over time would damage the crank. The rev-limited set-up was designed to reduce that.
The 064 didn't have the problem as much due to the lighter flywheel.

The big problems with the CDIC coils are a high rate of failure and the ones that keep going suffer from "brown out," where they continue to
function but the rev-limit keeps getting lower and lower. I've seen a couple that would only allow the engine to max out at around 10.5k.

Should I change the rod bearings? What a mess...

Now this was the worst part so far
I know it is abused but is it possible after the paint that it could still hang on? How much the paint would affect it? Positive or Negative?
That's a cross road right here.

Can i save this case? I don't want to just put a new one without trying.
Would the preparation sanding damage it more before painting?
