045 carb, freshly rebuilt with all new gaskets, screen, diaphragm, etc.. I completely disassembled the card, including the high and low needles, and sprayed carb cleaner through the adjustment holes so that I could see that both the high-speed and low-speed circuits appear to be clear. The saw will start and idle but I can't get rid of the bog in the transition between low and high; The saw hesitates then comes back. I did adjust the needle lever because the carburetor was flooding out. Adjusting the lever fixed that but I'm wondering if I adjusted it too far and it's starving for gas?

Gasket and diaphragm are in the right spot? And status on the spark screen?

There are multiple Low speed circuits in a row, is it possible the last one was missed and is plugged? Or was just simply re-contaminated, it happens sometimes even with our best efforts to clean everything.

I thought I had 'em all cleaned out but maybe not. Thinking I should pull the Welch plug and re clean.

If you did try enriching the low speed needle to no avail then something else is going on. Is the gasket on the right side of the diaphragm? Spring OK? Lever right height? Fuel pump side pass a pressure test? Passages clear? Pretty much go back in and dot all the I's and cross all the T's, it's in there.

If all else's fails the old holley 500 2 barrel carbs are easy to tune and might work for you

Love it when a plan comes together! Glad you were able to find it and get it going again.

Hi, this works for me every time. Set the low at 1 turn open. Warm up the engine then throttle up quicly, if the engine dies open 1/8 of a turn if its stalls close 1/8. Do this eather way until the transition from idel to full its quick and smooth.
Best regards.
