I have a couple carbs for these saws I am going to clean up and put new kits in. I believe walbro 16-1. They have the red limiter caps that are surrounded by the aluminum body. Is there a way to remove these so they can be fully adjusted.

Drywall screw. Line up the tabs. Pulls right out. Cut tabs off. Reinstall.

I have the Stihl tool, but usually just use a drywall screw (2" preferred).

With a modded saw (muffler, timing, etc) I usually start with the setting 1 turn out on low, 1 + 1/8 out on Hi, and adjust from there by ear.

You can also just pull the plastic limiters and leave them out, as they are sometimes damaged during removal.

The tab generally lines up with the grove on the Hi when turned all the way to the left, the Lo lines up when only turned about 1/4 turn to the left.
