My friend gave me his 034 to rebuild. He said he lent it to a friend who ran straight gas through it. I haven’t looked at it yet but he said it was scored. I’m going to tear it down later today around 7 to update you all on how it’s going. Any advice or help is much appreciated. Thanks!

Might be my favorite saw to work on. If you can find a decent deal on a 036/360 top end I would recommend doing so.

Don’t let people worry you about changing the Oiler line. It’s not that bad.

All I’ve done is put the saw in my shed so I don’t know anything about it except that it isn’t seized. I’ll post pictures when I start taking it apart later

Yea after you do one it isn't so bad. I have had to do it on every 034/036 that has crossed my bench. Either a weak spot or I'm just lucky

Skinny enough? To get down through the cylinder to the bolts? Like this?

Welcome Bryan.

We are here to help. You've got Dan close to you, if I understand correctly. That's a valuable asset.

Post away once you've got it apart.

I went to meet Bryan this morning, brought him my t27 scrench. Wouldn’t fit down cylinder holes... doh!
He had a short one that just reached so we got it off.
Was definitely straight gassed.
Looks to me like a cylinder may clean up.

He’s gonna need a piston for sure though.

Yup, used that method to revive a 440 cylinder that had been scored, worked great! It is still running strong.

OEM pistons were much cheaper then (less than $50), they have near doubled in price.

Likely Meteor would be the best option.
