intriguing idea for those of us who have no lathe. in this short video how much did your caliper say you had taken off? Or did you measure all progress with the degree wheel? (If I understand you correctly).

It was not easy to stay even. In that clip I would say .001 or less as I've said measuring this way is very hard to be precise I tried to hold the calipers in the exact same location. The 220 paper was slow so I changed to 80. It cut very fast.... To fast really wish I had something like 120-180.
I would sand then degree and check squish. Hope this answers your questions.

All these 026 threads are making me want to get another 50 lbs compression outta my 026

There does seems to be a lot of 026 threads! I think I'll be someplace between 225-250.

Ive got too quit stopping and looking Around OPE, i'll never get done with this saw.

Are you happy with the way the base "sand" came out? If I remember correct your squish band cut was done with a mandrel and done by hand -- did it come out the way you wanted as well.
Reading and learning! :cool1:

I'm happy with sanding you really need to be careful.. There's a really good reason why the builders use a lathe. I would not recommend some one taking there only great running saw and repeating what I did, You can end up with scrap real fast.
Yes I used mandrel and then sanded it worked great. I have not run the saw in wood yet so time will tell if I'm happy.

I used 105/118/79 on my 241c. It was strong but I lost alil torque when taking the transfers from 120 to 118 so I devcon the intake back to 73 and regained the torque and used alot less fuel so maybe that will kinda give u an idea
