I need to dig up better pics of mine, but here's my 86 C-30

350/350 and loud dual exhaust. The best feature of this truck is the plexiglass rear window the previous owner installed. I can bounce firewood right off of it:

Can you tell I'm usually taking pictures of her thinking "I can't believe what this truck can haul".

Several times I've taken loads to the landfill, and the scalehouse operator thinks there must be something wrong with his scales, because there's no way I had 3 or 4 tons in the bed of a pickup truck...

Thanks for the tag! I'll have to come back to this in the evening and read up. Before snow flies I'm going to wash my truck and make a walkthrough video of it.

Good to see your guys trucks @RIDE-RED 350r and @XP_Slinger. Are those old pics are did you actually get them out and drive them? :p:biggrin:

You must have done some work to the spring pack or added some overloads or air bags now don't get me wrong I love Chevy's as well as mid 70s Ford's but Chevy's can't hall heavy loads worth a damn stalk. Lol.

Yep it has air bags on the rear. I agree about hauling heavy with stock springs

Are you just referring to the 80's trucks or all?

Y’all have some sweet looking squares. Here’s my 85. Nothing special stock 350 w/700R4, my hopes are to build up the engine and trans in the next year but we’ll see how life goes. Sitting on 33’s with a 2” rough country all spring lift. It’s no show truck but it holds its own up here in the rust belt.

Garbage. You should sell it to me. Better yet, just park it at the end of the drive with the keys in it and I'll pick it up tomorrow so you can free up your garage space.

Most unless it's a onetone.

Half ton of any brand is usually sprung too soft. I see plenty of them dragging the hitch pulling campers and even just open car trailers.
The 80's trucks had stronger springs than the newer trucks, because now every purse totin bish wants their truck to ride like a Caddy.

If you're saying a GM cant handle weight in the back as well as Ford or Dodge, I will disagree.

I've never seen a Chevy truck other than onetones be able to handle as much weight as a Ford or Dodge and I'm not a fan of the Dodge of any year for the simple fact there just plain expensive to fix. So let's just say we agree to disagree.lol
