I Used a Felt style fuel filter on My Solo 690 tank vent and it Worked Great, Never an issue with fule starvation, or pissing fuel all over...

I cant remember what size fuel line I use for my big solos but ik I use a Stihl fuel filter. I usually by an assortment of fuel line because I never know what will come thro the door. As far as the tank breather I find fuel line that fits and a fine thread screw and lightly heat the fuel line cashing it to shrink around screw seems to work well.
