Decided to tackle this mess of a very rotted maple that was hung up, and the previous home owner had cut half through. The thing was full of ants that the birds are currently taking care of. Was a good reason to try out the new bar on the Dolkita!

Messed with chainsaws and made something to give my Mom for upcoming Mothers day.
They are pretty crude, but I'm no pro.
I think she will like them.

I notched out the end to put a flower planter on it. If she doesnt like it, I can just cut that end off.

Wow, NICE!!!

Thanks!

The log and then the chair were my 2nd and 3rd attempts ever trying to do something other than just hack wood into bits. Lol.
It's pretty fun. I may have to invest in a few carving bars. I did it all with a 268xp, a Stihl ms180 and a Poulan wood shark.

Not a &%&**thing yet. Just setting here on the lap top thinking i should get off my duff and eat some breakfast to get the eneger to go out and move the Buick, pull the Z turn out and swap out the blades. sharpen the take offs then return it to its resting spot. Wash the Buick, really need to clean the inside windows (I hate doing that.) and shampoo the carpet and vacum it out after.

Whew I am tired just thinking about it. think I will just take a nap before I eat breakfast.

Making the rounds is ing my Pullerbear and my back to get a handle on new poplar/cottonwood, alder, and willows

17 years ago when bought the property I tried to get my wife to let me cut out everything but the spruce and birch

But nope

“It’s green” was her answer

Now she gets it but it’s about too late

it’s a constant struggle and I am losing

The “weed” trees are pushing the good trees back further each year

I got 90+ foot poplars close enough that if/when they come down it could be bad news for the house

Willow and alder belong on the river banks

How else can the bears sneak up and steal your pic-a-nic basket?

:roto2nuse:

We are north of Anchorage at mile 23 on the Glenn in North Peters Creek on the back side of Mirror Lake

We had a vacation/retirement home and another lot in Homer but sold both a few years back after we bought places in Hawaii

Winters there are mucho better on my sweetie's arthritis

Homer is beautiful but that damp cold can be brutal
