More Milling Pics

After cutting the 4 Boards with the MS710, the chain was so loose that the drivers were not even in the bar slot, so I figured it was time to bring it home and tighten the chain and sharpen it.

Still one or two more boards left in that log.
Looks good! Nice work!

This came down Wednesday at our neighbors down the road. Missed their house by a foot and landed where their car and truck get parked. It's about 6 foot at the base. My son is cleaning up as much as he can and then they'll have to have someone with some equipment get the big stuff.

He only took this pic. He's using his 2258 and my 365 to clean it up.

Oh yeah, I forgot. No storm, no wind....nothing. Nice clear clam day. Just a crappy old tree. I think a willow.

NYH1.
It was a result of a large broken down willow tree that I got my first Stihl saw. My dad bought it so I could finish hacking up the tree that fell in our yard. My little Skil just wasn't up to the task. That saw was an 026 with an 18" bar which seemed like a big saw at the time and made short work of the tree. I still have and use that saw decades later.

Foaming a gas tank below the deck of my 18' fiberglass boat. And, it's smokin' hot outside....thank goodness there's breeze.

Wearing flip-flops and had to keep moving my feets to keep the sun from burning 'em. :firedevil:

Was the fire truck burning? Looks like it was targeted with retardant.

No, they use retardant to slow spread or reinforce containment lines or buffer fire around things

We were on a mid slope fire road (which it jumped 30mph winds and they wanted to keep it out of an old growth Eucalyptus grove that was near s lot of homes and businesses.

This was last years Sonoma County, Ca firestorm w/ 50-60 mph offshore winds and single digit humidities. Over 7000 homes burned over a week on 3 separate close range fire runs.

That fire vid is some scary crap! Glad we have mostly hardwoods around here.

The Catskills used to be almost all Hemlock, but they basically clear cut them all for the tannic acid (used to tan leather) during the Civil War, and hardwood grew in their place.

Up at 5:45 to drive my son to Mahaffey PA to our church camp where he works for the summer. I did this so my wife wouldn't make the drive last night during the storms. Stopped at TSC on the way back and got home before noon! Spent the afternoon with my two daughters Sarah is 13 and Emily 23. Emily is building herself a MS260 and it will be very nice. Sarah got to run her little Rattler/Mofo 026 on a dead Ash that fell in our yard overnight! It was covered in vines and took out a branch on my pear tree.

It was a very good day!

Finally got around to burning out this old red oak stump.
Rather amazing what a lot of lighter fluid, some hedge/blk locust scraps, and a half a bag of charcoal can do! :firedevil::flamethrower2:

Guess I'll rake it all out in a couple of days & mix some manure/topsoil and sow some centipede grass in that spot...maybe...:icon_popcorn:

That's the way to do it....get 'em involved and empowered.

What''s up with that Blue Fin in the background? Looks like a nice little fishing rig.

Thanks and good eye my friend! The Blue fin is a 1994 14" with a 10hp Force motor with stern and bow trolling motors. It's been a nice fishing boat but haven't been able to use it the last couple years![emoji852]

I grew up fishing in a 14' aluminum boat that I fixed up with my old man. We caught a ton of crappie out of it. Good times!

Gave my Super A a wash down, tune up and changed the oil. I’ll be using it to run a PTO pump for Joe’s splitter later this evening. Some of you know that this tractor was owned by my grampa for just under 30 years, he’s been gone since 2010.
