Toured the Okefenokee swamp (GA) by boat with the kids
Uncle of ours (mothers' brother), had a cabin on the Suwannee River in the Okefenokee Swamp...we (brothers and I) would spend about half the summer school vacation there when we were kids back in the 70's. Crazy good fishing, hog hunting, gators, etc, etc back in those days!

Well I work for the town highway department and I hauled them to our green waste dump. Eventually they will be buried.

I thought you guys would have a fancy stump grinder. Now it looks like you have some holes to fill back in. And is that your plow truck minus the plow?

No that's not my assigned truck, it's a POS Volvo. My truck doesn't have the pintle hook and is not plummed with glad hands for pulling the trailer so I have to use that piece of crap when the trailer is needed

I gave my Dolmar PS-7310 a carb tune and test drive after yesterday's muffler mod.
DSC07550.JPG

Shockingly, she's still tuned too rich 300-500rpm below the coils limiter - she cleared up only when I utilized the spikes.
Granted, chain could be a bit more aggressive, I'll lower the rakers a bit more. Chain is otherwise sharp.

It's an oak log.

I posted this in the 2100 thread, I am pretty happy with how it turned out! A little more prep and it could be better

Holy. That turned out good. You should do a step by step of how you did that.

Thanks, it is pretty simple, mainly sanding the oxidation layer off then sanding those scratches out, then wet sanding for a smooth finish, the smoother you get the plastic the shinier it is when polished! Whatever color you get when it’s wet, is pretty much the color you get when you polish. Not all plastic polishes well, reinforced plastic dosnt sand and polish well. Once you have it as smooth as you can get it,then Buff with this

I use a drill press on the highest speed, it takes some practice and patience, if you are too agressive with the wheel it will melt the plastic and leave scratches that may need sanded back out, I try and always keep the plastic moving bask and forth quickly to dissipate the heat, I melted two spots on these, a light sand and rebuff and it was gone!

I gave the 2/3 worn Dolmar 099 loop my Dolmar PS-7310 is wearing a little more bite and ran it in a large oak log.
The chain is now loading the saw nicely, she's holding an average of 9.5k rpm in the cut and clears up nicely.
I have her tuned to about 12.3k WOT no load, the log was large enough to utilize the whole 20" bar length.

I guess I could get a little more rpm out of her, but I actually like how she's running now.

Next up, I have to pull the carb limiters off my Dolmar PS-7300.

I did eBay today.
I ordered:
- two more cheapo tachs one of which is a new/different style than the one I already have
- a 50pcs. set of diamond burrs
- a spare set of 10pcs. Tungsten Carbide burrs, the set I already have served me very well for muffler modding my PS-7310
- a T-handle Torx T27 (finally, no chance of finding one in T27 size locally)
- a data cable for my old faithful non-smartphone so that I don't have to carry the one I have forth and back between my home and my workplace.

I hoped to recode (camera is making FullHD JPEG videos in huge file sizes) and upload some videos to YouTube - but I have enough of sitting in front of the PC for today.

I was wakened before my normal rising time by Groundi who stated that one of our tenant's HVAC units wasn't working. That began a day of sequences and events but by the end I had checked off a lot of items. Got the AC working, purchased some needed hardware at TSC, stopped by Auto Zone for a set of brake pads, picked up some items at Home Depot, cleaned the gutters on the house and garage, paid 2nd quarter estimated taxes, paid a water bill for our Florida property, paid a ridiculously expensive bill for my pre eye surgery exam ($500), mowed grass at one of our unoccupied properties in a nearby town and then came back and showered. Resting now after finishing a supper of hotdogs and mac and cheese. Tomorrow? We'll see...

We finished off our firewood yesterday so I figured it was time for a long over due clean up of the work area.

It’s been a cluster effword for a couple years now.

It was Milling Day (in the afternoon). Fixed a saw for someone this AM, then broke out my milling stuff for the first time this year and got started. Had to do some fix ups here and there, but finally got going and milled up some beautiful Red Oak.

Made the first flat side with the Timberjig and my MMWS 066, then went to the board making rig and my MOFO MS710. Damn boards were so heavy I had to roll them on a log to get them into the trailer, and moving the big log with the Timberjack was dicey! Was working alone today.

Good news, as soon as I cut the first side piece off, a passerby stopped and purchased it on the spot! Just a few bucks, but I'll take it.

More Milling Pics

After cutting the 4 Boards with the MS710, the chain was so loose that the drivers were not even in the bar slot, so I figured it was time to bring it home and tighten the chain and sharpen it.

Still one or two more boards left in that log.
