Took down 3 decent legs of a dead Ash tree, and a sick Cherry that was in the way. Put a tank and a half through my CFB Hybrid which did the felling and most bucking, and a tank through my MOFO 360 that did the smaller bucking and a little limbing (not much limbing to do, so the the 026 did not see action).

Both saws ran great, but that Hybrid does not like being rich. Just dies when it is rich, and I brought it up to 15,000 and it still almost feels rich (but much better). So much for making it rich for "torque", does not always work!!!

This will work out well. The homeowner wanted the dead Ash down because a neighbor was complaining they were dangerous, but he does not burn wood, and I got someone else who told me she did not need wood this year because she was selling her house, but it did not sell, so now she is looking for some fire wood! Perfect!

When we were finishing up, a neighbor of the homeowner stopped to talk, and the homeowner told him that every tree went down "right on the money"! Always good when that happens, and there would have been some damage if it did not go that way. It was also a little breezy today, so I tied 2 of the 4 just to make sure.

Went to work at my regular job, and one of my customers left a leaf blower with me to diagnose. I explained that I wouldn't get to work on it tonight because another regular customer asked me to come over and check out a dead ash tree they'd like cut down. The leaf blower guy said "you cut trees?", to which I replied "yes..." Turns out he has a tree needing dropped. Then another customer overheard the conversation. They have a tree needing felled. Then her mom overheard. She has several trees needing cut down.

It's gonna be a busy couple weeks :)

Gave the MOFO 360 another workout today, that saw is starting to grow on me. A lot of nuts for it's size, and real easy filter clean up (I just use the dust pan brush on the metal screen, what could be easier).

I took down a real dead leaner that had vines holding it up like crazy (that is where the ropes came into play), then a few small ones, and this little Red Maple.

The 360 made chips all over the place!

Got the boat out for the last time this year.
Only got four walleyes. Heres a pic of one. It was pretty white looking compared to the rest.

The Hybrid did some more felling and bucking, and the MOFO 026 and MOFO 360 also both got good run time making fire wood.

Started by dropping a Black Birch, then a Black Cherry, then an Apple tree.

Don't want to complain that it was hot & humid, but I got home and took my clothes off and put them outside to dry! Then went to walk the dogs, but my wife had put them in an air conditioned room! Kinda late in the season for this stuff.

Any way, the trees:

Yesterday my friend Harold and I went up to the hunting cabin to cut some fire wood. Took the ATV with my log dragging attachment and scouted for dead but not rotten wood.

Got a decent amount of Ash & Cherry (In the pics, the Ash is bucked but not the Cherry). Harold loved using my new MMWS 261, told me a half dozen times "you just can't slow this thing down", so I used my Dr Al 360 and we were both happy!

Snagged a bit of greenish silver maple and a little road side standing dead ash. Played with all 3 saws:)

A few days old, but we had a small tree we dropped and spent most of Saturday cutting, hauling splitting, and storing.

I ALWAYS wear my helmet when felling!

I took down and bucked up a decent size dead Ash tree this afternoon, large enough to produce 1 cord of fire wood. There were a couple of trees leaning into that drop path, so I cut them loose at the bottom to let the Ash push them down. The Ash had a little lean to it, so I did some follow through cut, then stepped back and kept my eye on it.

What I didn't see was one of the little leaners in the path fulcrumed against another tree and whipped a 1" (but tall) Norway Maple right at me. Luckily I was wearing my helmet, it really smacked me hard right on top of my head, and I never saw it coming (was watching the Ash and the helmet has a visor).

I felt the impact, but with the helmet it was not too bad, but I'm sure glad I did not get to feel what it was like w/o the helmet. It could have turned my nice afternoon into something ugly, especially since I was working alone.

Be safe out there. I took a pic of the first of two trailer loads.

Switched my and my parents car tires to winter ones.

Washed, wrapped and stored the summer tires for the winter.

My winter tire chains never left my cars trunk, as always (You never know when they might come in handy).

This winter's firewood isn't yet in the shed, but it's in the yard and under a roof and as such ready to use.

As far as I am concerned winter can come.

Started workin on my shed. Then got a call from a friend who needed a hand winterizing his rv. He has MS so I try to help him all I can.

I ran out of some materials and daylight so off to hardware store tomorrow mornin to spend more money on overpriced lumber. Dam forest fires that drive up prices.
