I have a ported 461 here at 14.8k where it runs the best and that’s a bigger saw. How’s the plug/spark screen look?

My hybrid runs like that but performs better @huskyboy s 461 range. I found pushing the rpms higher even though 4 stroking will pull a saw out of max rpm in the cut.

I forgot what rpm I had this at, but listen to how it started out a touch fat and by the 3rd cut the tune is leaner and about spot on. That’s why I’m careful to not set them too far on the edge especially in bigger wood, they will lean out a touch as they get hotter. This plug color is ballpark of what I shoot for after a bunch of hard cuts. I’m not a chainsaw guru lol, but this is just what I have had good luck with. 074B3AE7-B526-4F50-9C5F-031A36267D19.jpeg

Plug looks like this I didn’t do a read the plug run, actually I didn’t piss rev it til I got a tach. It probably only has about 3 tanks thru it.

Screen hasn’t had a chance to crud up.

I have plugs with lighter color and dozens of tanks, some years and years, on them in small saws. Use a fresh plug now it's tuned. Should show a touch of color after one tank. You have a tachometer so no worries

Right after I got my 346 back, I tuned it just out of 4 stroking for a couple small cookies. Felt like I was living on the edge of destruction.

Never took it near there again, felt like it lost torque. Doesn't ever go beyond 15.

Couple years ago at a gtg, Dan Henry tuned one of his saws (2171 I believe) to something like 17k and ran it there for a little. It was unforgettable. It was this saw but vidya was before he wicked it up.
