Drool Drool Drool. My friend and I milled 20" dia. black walnut using a stock Makita 6421 with a 32" bar and got 8 boards out, 1.5" thick, 8' long. I was impressed that this saw had the power to do that, but it seldom hesitated. We used ordinary semi-chisel chain and only changed loops once, right after the fifth board was completed. We used the same saw mill hookup shown above with guide bars for the first rip.
