Here is a few more. My first snowmobile, 1973 skidoo elan, got it with a bad engine and rebuilt it. I had just turned 11.

A few of the newer ones. In the top picture the black mountain max, blue summit and white powder extreme are mine. That is what you do when you live in snow nine months out of the year, work a good job and was single!

Here is a couple that I helped a buddy restore for the tired iron vintage race. The Arctic Cat is a wrankel engine powered one. It sounds strange and loved to vibrate bolts out.

Looking at the idea of a snowmobile dolly and lift stand. Anyone have any opinions on what to get and what not to get?

KYsawman, never new it snowed that much in Kentucky. HAHA

It doesn’t lol,those where all back home in Alaska, we get enough to maybe ride every other year here in Kentucky . I still think it would be fun to have an old one here and take it for a ride when it snows enough.

Nice TX. Was it an L? Buddy of mine had a TXL 340. Man that sled was hot for such a small thing. Made a great backup sled even riding with newer sleds. I had an old 79 Cobra 440 and that ran good too. Wish I still had that sled.

I have a first year TXL 340 that was rumored to be a Polaris test sled

I had a 1979 TX 340 FA Sold it and bought a 1981 Polaris TXL Inday.

Just picked up a Arctic Cat ZRT with bad engine and swapped it out. runs on 2 of the 3 cylinders. The one that isn't running has new NGK plugs, spark and compression. I tore carb apart and checked reeds. Anyone have an opinion?

Did you try swapping spark plug caps, they are resistor type and sometimes they go bad. Also check fuel pump diagrams, they can crack and flood the cylinder through the crankcase port. What year and what cylinder?

The fuel pump is next on my list. I suspect cylinder is flooding. Far left cylinder if your on seat. 1996. Check all wires and caps for bright blue spark.

My first venture into snowmobiles a month ago. Picked up a 98 340 AC Puma, and a 97 440 AC Jag w/ covered 2 place trailer. Rebuilt the carb on the Puma (wouldn't run) and now both run well and are very clean. Just wanted something to ride trails/fields near the house in the evenings with my wife.

If the carb has double floats check that one is not sunk. Common issue. Cj

Single float, pulled it apart, cleaned well put back together and she fired right up, so far so good.

I cant believe there arent more sled junkies on here.. sleds are my favorite type of 2stroke!! (with saws a close second!!)
