I've got a little peanut Echo too in the 40 cc range .My bud started out with a 100 dollar Craftsman and this thing years ago when he went into tree trimming .It got dropped out of a tree and knocked loose all the mountings and sat on a shelf for years .I put it back together and rebuilt the carb .It's got 1/4" pitch chain .Quite honestly for a rice burner it does pretty good . It's rear handle and I think a 14" bar .It's like most of them,a shelf queen .

Thank-you, sir. You are responsible for me getting a Super XL 925 and maybe one of these some day.
I forgot about the echo 302. They a great little saw. For the power they seem to cut quite well. Ausome little limbing saw. Only reason i got rid of mine is i tradednit staight up for a stihl 026.
Iv been eyeing up a john deer version of the echo 302. Im just too cheap to spend 100 bucks on a saw i dont really need. Well wife tells me that i dont need it but i know i need it lol.

I've got a pair Husqvarna 235 or 335 trim saws ,forgot the exact number .Damned oilers went out of both of them .It's just the pump shaft which is about 10 bucks but you have to field strip the little rascal to replace it .I fixed one so far .
It's 12-14 or so years ago this area was the hardest hit in the country from an epic ice storm .The trimmers couldn't hire enough people and couldn't find the extra saws .These little Huskies plus Stihl 029 and 039 were what they bought .None of them lasted much over a year .They just beat the pizz out of them .That's how they ended up in my shed. I've robbed parts off the Stihls but the little Huskies are still intact .

So what do y'all consider a small saw? 50cc is decent sized around these parts. Not too many 70s running around. So a 30cc is small to me. 40-45 is about average.

Likely depends on the location, type of wood being harvested and type of owner. Anything 50cc and up for serious work was the norm here but I see the Stihl MS 241 creeping in on that territory lately. Years back Stihl 028 was the predominate small saw, then the 026 showed up, next the MS 260 and now the MS 261 plus the MS 241.

I see a lot of the 30 and 40cc bracket saws owned by domestic as well as commercial customers .
Very common for a small saw to be sitting by the chipper or used up a tree as well as on firewood cutting dutys. Hedge and fencing contractors along with landscape companies will often have these saws to. Lots of top handled saws owned by tree climbers ..there usual usage in the UK.
The 50cc class is very popular with many of the above as well but very often not the CC size starting point.

I picked these two up last weekend. The were thrown in as a boneyard purchase. The 34 Deluxe is in very nice shape. The 35 not as much, but not too bad.
Fueled the 34 but I couldn’t get it to pop.
I don’t find much info on either. The 34 is made in the US

I'm not into top handles, but I dig quality built saws under 45cc.

I've run my father in laws Dolkita 4300 (Same as Dolmar 421) and like it alot.

My one and only Creamsicle so far is an 024 AV.

But my FAVORITE is my 242XP. Hail to the small saw king, YAHOO 242!!!. ;)

Good looking saws.
I had a piece of a Husky 242XP and sold it, only to find out later that many consider them "legendary" and they have a sort of cult following!!:crybaby2:

Husky 246, never got to run a 242xp. Echo 2511t is amazing w/ a muff mod and limiters removed. I admit it does feel a little chincy/toy like but it's been solid so far. No it doesn't cut the big stuff as well as the 200/201t's but most of the time 2511t isn't at a disadvantage at all. I'm runnin stihl chisel .050 3/8th lp currently, very smooth and fast cuttin. The ported/timing advanced/1/4" chain runnin 2511t's has to be hella good.

Small saw related.

This is a sugi bar. Universal mount.

To stop oil leaking everywhere on my T525

I epoxyed the Stihl oil hole and epoxyed the chain tensioner hole smaller.

Works perfect now. Oil stays on the chain, no more wasted chain oil.
