How often do everyone dress there wheel to keep it cutting and not burning the tooth?

On my first mid long chain (60" skip ) I dressed the wheel twice unless it was three. Now I see why nobody was jumping on the opportunity to sharpen the toofs on a 213 dl semi-skip chain for me three weeks ago. Just finished five minutes ago.
I get what that guy meant about resting his hand on the stop rod for the swing. Not continuous just two fingers next to thumb so the next finger and the thumb pull the toof into the grinder. Makes it easier for me to bounce the contact which I hope keeps it all cool rather than blued.
I bet the numbers you wood get will vary depending on length and condition of the chain being sharped up.
Keeping an eye on the corner of the grinding wheel and the toof just done is where I am now but this is still some like learning a foreign language that is similar to the primary language I had.

I dress the wheel at the start of each side of the chain, may dress it more if I see it getting black from a dirty chain, and Semotony says it's a learning curve.

If I get a wheel dirty enough to burn a cutter I'll spray it off with brake cleaner.
I was able to grind a 42" chain with one dressing that way.

I’ll normally only dress the wheel once even on a 60” 185 driver chain unless I see the wheel load up or the corner is degrading on the wheel.

Wear chaps! That would take your leg off in a tenth of a second.

Always wear labonville chaps or clogger zeros, even when more commonly using far less aggressive chains. New to me grinder so have to have a little fun and try the full spectrum of adjustment.

On my pro sharp the stand is adjustable which doesn’t sound like much until a chain is balling up on the floor. Or you want to sit down in a chair to grind a decent amount.
