No longer have it, but once bought a pile of used saws, just to take apart and learn on.

One actually had moss growing out from the place where the muffler was supposed to be.

Ok. Husqvarna 543 from Germany. It was advertised as piston damage. Dissecting it i found a weird looking crankshaft with the rod bearing stuck between the crank halves. Broken cylinder and piston.

I think the crank was made on monday and never went thru QC. Or the japanese were full of sake on their first day at work.

Air filter neglected, took out entire insides of motor, piston rings, bearings, seals everything. A five dollar air filter could have prevented this saw from being totally destroyed.

This came off an MS291. User couldn't understand why the chain wasn't cutting:



Same user .... bought a Husky to replace the 291. Couldn't understand why the bar rails were smoking:

Got one I tore down yesterday.

Where do I even start on the cobbled rebuild someone did.

Did see a new one today.

Not the rtv silicon used on the carb gasket or impulse. Not the raised chip in the top of piston from using a screwdriver for a piston stop. Not the to long bolt run through the handle and sticking inside the gas tank. Not even the piston in the wrong way.

Something I didnt think would be possible. Put ring on upside down and be able to put cylinder back on.
