While not a multi meter like this thread is about, for small engine repair a Merc-O-Tronic is some of the best help you can get. This one is a model 98, there was an 88 before it and a 9800 after. With the CD adapter to go with, it takes you right in to the modern day. Does complete ignition analysis including the coil. I would not want to be without it.

I have a modest collection and occasionally even need a bunch at once. What's pictured is probably not half of them. I think I've had that Fluke 77 for over 30 years, still have another one stashed away NIB.
I also get those cheap ones free with the coupons at harbor freight, leave them in all the vehicles and give them away regularly.
They actually do 90% of anything I normally need one for and other than the crappy leads, hold up reasonably well.

I've had a Fluke 73 and a pocket Radio Shack for over 30 years. The Fluke gets used weekly and still has the plastic protective sheet covering the LCD display.

I killed a nice Craftsman meter and replaced with a Mac like this one. It works very well. I thought id use the RPM function but I never do. 1 of the probes is a little shorter than it was originally. Don't ask.....

I hate to be the guy that resurrects an old thread, but I figured what's the point in having the cock and balls of a bull elephant if you don't get to swing em around from time to time.

Claire comprehensive test station, great for checking winding insulation, diagnosis work and doubles as a PAT tester.

Telequipment d61a oscilloscope, sure, it's a dinosaur but it's a 2 channel analogue scope thats awesome for comparing suspect faulty items with known good ones.

Kenwood bench supply, lovely clean dc supply for whatever I need to power.

Vichy vc97 meter, it's an oriental fluke rip off but it has micro amps and a thermometer. Both handy.

Fluke 101. Epic little meter, has a really good capacitance measuring setting that can handle big electrolytic caps.

Victor 6065 clamp meter, surprisingly accurate considering it cost 20 quid.

Box of frogs, useful for referencing how mad things are.

5D6EBE0B-9175-45D6-8CF9-0330B34C8C46.jpeg The Fluke 87 is a nice full featured meter, the 113 is a good simple autoranging meter that I mostly use for basic voltage and resistance functions, and the 325 is an AC and DC clamp meter as well as basic multimeter. The clamp meters can be handy for current measurements.

Fruke 27/FM Military surplus. I bought my first one because it was cheaper than a normal 27 and it was so great I bought a 2nd on. They're great extra thick case, EMF shielding so nukes wont bother it, and the whole board is through hole so if you manage to *f-word it good you can fit it easy.
