I’m gonna attempt my 1st mod on my 359/7 project.

Could you elaborate on yours?
It is exactly what I’d like to achieve.

This was an easy one as the can is empty.
I just drilled a few holes and connected the dots with tin snips and smoothed out to straight lines. (My die grinder/cutoff wheels were not in the building as this would have been quicker and easier.) Then a couple sheet metal screws to attach the deflector, trimmed the screen to fit snug inside and one more screw.

The 359 muffler is very different animal with baffle and a tube or even worse if it has a cat....

Humble submission. Drilled out two holes, used self tapping screws, cleaned it all out, and sprayed it with BBQ Paint.

After a little more smoothing and sand blasting it looks a whole lot better! I grabbed it and pulled as hard as I can and it didn't come off! I'm happy with my first brazing job. The 461 is next!

I would watch those screws to make sure they don’t back out, haven’t had the best luck with self tappers

If you use dick screws they won't back out.

I like to use rivets but they were not in the shop at the time.
I will replace the self tappers in mine with rivets, still easy to remove if need be.
