It sure has come out nice sweet hatchet

I wear a rough textured rubber glove and rub the oil in when it’s soaking in and the wood is supping it up the glove goes over the handle with resistance once it’s soaked in enough and there is excess the glove slides over easily then I just stand t(e axe in a warm place and let it dry

I’ve tried teak oil , danish oil, boiled linseed oil , Olive oil on the ash axe handles
But Danish oil seems too be the one I like best

I thought the Teak would be best, as it was the only oil rated for outdoor use.

I would use what ever has the lowest percentage of solvents in it. Solvents accelerate cure time but also reduce the amount of oil getting into the wood. But if you maintain your finish, I don’t think it really matters what you use.

Teak oil was also for hard woods. I think any of them would work well. Better than not oiling the handle.

Thanks it was one of the best axes I’ve ever had to fit a handle it went so smooth every shave down was the right one

thanks it would have been a keeper but somebody wanted a puget style but not too skinny and this one was perfect for him
