You have my interest as well:). That’s some top notch leather work.


Handles look great.
That one still needs to be hot waxed. Which helps with the leather not holding moisture and causing rust. Makes leather alot stiffer also.

Grabbed a nice 2lb ax today. The shadow cheeks look like Kelley but I have to do more research on it.

Very Nice axe head , the pole is very square for a Kelly with phantom bevels

My thought exactly on the pole. Haven’t been able to find a Kelley model like this, and there are no visible markings on it. Doubt it’s a Kelley at his point, they marked their axes prominently and this one is in good enough condition that it would be visible if it were there.

Me likey those W.C.Kelly 'Perfect Axe' with the phantoms in that very typical American pattern. I WILL own one some day, patience & a little magic is needed finding these old precious metals but they do gravitate toward you if your persistent. Kelly made many good axes I like.
