Saw dosn't have spark, needs a brake handle and a muffler stud. Has ok compresstion. The wrap handle looks to have been modified not original. Anybody got anything they want to trade for it.
Or if you've got parts that I can use to get it back in proper order let me know.image.jpgimage.jpgimage.jpgimage.jpg

What parts do you have.
I have a 55 Husky I need to finish.
The handle is off a Dolmar I think.

55 parts you say?.....just send me a PM with what you need, brother.
Me too Howard- I've got tons of 51/55 parts. You're welcome to any of it that you need.
You guys are the best. I don't want to appear to be a beggar. I'd be happy to pay for the parts. I'll send a picture of my saw so you can see what I'm in need of.

@how57 have you verified which ignition parts you need on the 680? We have some NOS stuff at work. I could take a gander at the stock of ignition parts.
It's a three part ignition, who knows witch part is compromised.

Troof!

I have the IPL so I'll look for all three components. With all of those lead wires in the system, it certainly would make a diagnosis interesting.
I wonder if something could be grounding out?

And here I thought 2 piece ignition systems were silly.

So pulled it all apart and checked all the wiring. Everything appeared to be ok. Reset the gap still no spark. As far as which component failed I haven't the slightest idea. Dose one of the parts habitually fail more than another?image.jpg

@how57 I have pretty much everything together on the small parts. Do you need a top cover, clutch cover, and air filter.

All of the above. At your leisure. Just tell me what I owe you.

Sounds good. The top cover I have is faded, but should clean up.
I realize now, that you need a coil. So I will pull one off, as well.
I have the components separated by where they fit, along with the associated fasteners. The clutch I pulled looks to be in good shape, but the rim was pretty worn, so I threw in a new 3/8 7 pin.

I'll get the stuff headed your way on Wednesday.

Meh? We're good. I'm sure you'll come up with some old school guide bar that will catch my eye.
