I have a loop of full chisel skip. It seems every time I cut anything lately the center is rotten about like dirt. The chisel point takes heavy damage. If I go chisel I may invest in some Carlton. I don't know if I'm willing to spend on stihl. I'm looking for semi chisel with a skip as my Saw really has its hands full with a 32" bar. It's a 272xp.

I checked archer out no dice. I'm gonna go out on a limb and just say it's not available in .058.
Fug it. Lookin like ima have to just get chisel. Not really a huge deal. I'm starting to wish I'd gotten .050 bar. Thought that .058 would help on the longish bar. I'm pretty sure that little bit of difference is irrelevant at this point And it also makes it odd ball as everything else is .050 that I own... oh well I'm over it. Thank you fellas for helping me look for it. If you run across it ever let me know

if your not gonna run it allot just grab a loop of 050 and run it. I've seen more 050 chain on 058/063 bars than i can count and the people had no clue anything was wrong

That's what I was gonna suggest if it's only for occasional use.

We see it allot, local hardware store don't even ask or look at gauge of bar, just hands out 050 chains to everyone. Thankfully they closed last summer so another couple years and we should have all the locals straightened out.

Only issue I see is the 32" bar, biggest I've seen this done on is a 20".

That's what I'm afraid of. I typically only use that bar to fall big trees 40plus in hers that a 20 inch bar just isn't gonna work well for. I wonder if it would cut good and true. I'm honestly gonna just stick with the chisel tooth that fits the bar rail. It's not a huge deal but it gets irritating when you blunt the little point on the chisel up in a matter of five minutes.. just need a couple extra chains and all will be alright.
It's not a huge deal I just thought for sure it would be available and I just couldn't find it. It's all good

Get full comp if You can and do this:
DSC00066.JPG DSC00067.JPG DSC00068.JPG

It is left-right-cut-right-left-cut-left-right-cut-right-left-cut-...
This is one of my 115DL loops, I cut off the top plate but left the side plate (for now) thinking it might help clearing chips.
Seems to work quite nice.

Just a suggestion. :)

The only semi chisel skip chain Oregon makes is 72AP, it is the skip version of 72DP. They don't make a 73AP/75AP. I bought a reel of this to use for stumping. Still haven't tried it yet though.

Carlton makes A1EP-SK but like Oregon does not make it in A2 nor A3. Bailey's has the reboxed A1EP-SK as WoodlandPRO 30SCS.

Don't know about other chain manufacturers.
