I picked up this Scott's John Deere about a month ago for $100 and decided against parting it out when I got it home. With a quick carb cleaning the 25hp Kohler Command was running pretty good.

Biggest issue was the Tuff Torq K66 was non operational. I found a K62 axle and was going to swap it on Tuesday. As I was taking the rear axle out, I saw that the key way in the hub sheared. I quickly did some checking and realized that the back axle was fine so I made a punch list of parts to make it complete including a new rear hub as the keyway is built into it.

I came home to a bunch of parts today and got busy. Everything went together easy. Sharpened the blades, greased up the zerk fittings and mowed some lawn.

I am impressed with the ease of finding exploded parts diagrams and replacement parts for this machine, has me contemplating on buying some more cheap non runners to flip for a profit.

25hp, 54" cut.
$100 for tractor
$120 in parts
