Been trying to finagle my schedule around to fit this one in but at this point looks like a no go,
just been flat out, one thing after another.
Hate to miss a gtg, sounds like a great spot for one.
Have fun and stay cool...
I stopped in for about an hour, great to see you guys! Glad to meet your dad and grandad, and Walt too Bryan.
Have fun with all the meaningless testing and stihl/ husky banter! [emoji33]
Lot of nice saws there!
Had a great time today. Great to see the CT area saw riff raff! Thanks to Bryan and Dana Jr and Dana Sr and family for hosting and letting us make a mess in the yard. That is a fantastic spot for a saw GTG. Enjoy the bar and chain -- that pioneer 50 seems to pull it nice and the chain was making some nice chips.
It was a blazer today. The boiling effect going on in Jeff's tank was crazy. At 93 F and above gas evaporates more but it doesn't boil til 180 or something... Similar to alcohol I guess. So it wasnt boiling but plenty of bubbles going on in that tank.
Saws seemed to be running fat but they didn't disappoint.
Lee good luck with your MRI. Hope that hand recovers quickly.
I didn't get any pics or vids today. Looking forward to see what you guys managed to get.
Another great event. Had a very nice time even though I wasn't
able run saws like usual but still made a few cuts. Big thanks to
Bryan and family for there great hospitality. Food was excellent.
Was hot a hell and most saws were running fat as chit.
I was just reading that gasoline does have an initial boiling point at atmospheric pressure of 95 F. I sampled the temp of the gas in that tank and it felt like luke warm water. We added some gas from a can that was in the shade and the bubbling stopped and the saw did run. My theory is that the boiling gas going into the line and into the diaphragm area of the carb while still boiling will get you air coming out the main jet from those bubbles and the saw doesn't run.
Yup. My saws gas tank looked like a fish tank with air bubbles bubbling up from the fuel filter. Weird.
But we all got our saws running. My saws were operating at a out 1000 less rpms on the top end.
Mason's Hooskie 562 Autotune was very impressive. Really scooted along. My 360 was right at its heels. May have come down to chain, but that 562 ran real well nonetheless.
We gotta make a point to run same bar and chain next time for sure. As long as its not 96 degrees with a feel like of 110 degrees. Lol
Thank you Bryan for hosting this gtg. Very nice of you and your family. [emoji106]
Was nice to run some of Lee's big saws. I would never be able to own one in my lifetime, so they are a real treat as are some of the other older saws.
A good time was had by all who attended. [emoji106]
I was dying in the shade here at home. Can't imagine what you guys put up with but running saws is always a good time. Sounds like a good time was had by all regardless of what the thermometer said.
