I’m pretty sure that 6100 would give a stock 7900 a hard time
Only in certain wood types, square ones I believe, I can't seem to find that species in my area.

As @Locust Cutter stated, the 79'er has much more grunt.

Stock PS-7310 in dense turkey oak FTW! :)

I'm pushing down too hard, but she's still hauling.

FYI, turkey oak is nothing like regular oak, regular oak is "soft" compared to turkey oak.

Alright! To all you guys who say sh't about me and my saw choices. Looky what I got.

Congratulations on officially kicking Team Schteel to the curb. Now you can begin thinking rationally and subjectively. Consider this the first day of the rest of your life.:D

Until you tie into Osage Orange, then the grunt of the 7900 will shine through. Especially in a piece larger than 20" in diameter... That'll separate the Men from the Boys.
This is true for most any saw. Go up with more cc's, more low end grunt! As compared to smaller cc saw.

Was this about ten years ago? About that time there was hearsay of Oregon dropping semi skip. I wonder if the change in cutter tooth was the real story.
Anyhow I panicked and bought 3 rolls of it. I just about fell flying down into the basement hoping I had CKX but it's CK. I'm guessing if I ever ran CKX it was a long time ago, maybe during the learning curve years LOL.

Not that far back but been 5 years or so since it was still on the shelf. The called it durapro too if I remember right.

I gotta wait until 6100 gets broke in.
