Greg’s 036 is done. Super fat at 10,800. I forgot my screwdriver, so that’s where it ran.

28” bar. Chain was meh.

Forgetting your screwdriver likely showed some how a work saw should run when the bar and log is a little larger than recommended.

Hey I was just a skinny lad
Never knew no good from bad
But I knew love before I left my nursery
Left alone with big fat Fanny
She was such a naughty nanny
Heap big woman, you made a bad boy out of me

Yes Jim, it was nice and safe there. As it started to break in, it was burbling, even with bar pressure in the wood.

You make a great point. Ear tune is what matters on a work saw for me. Has to stay fat, even after a long cut.

Boy, the Dr sure gets those saws to pull disproportionate to their size!

Judging from the bark, and color of the wood, I'm guessing that 461 was in Chestnut Oak (AKA Rock Oak)???

4 nice Stihl vids there guys, not one of them you would not want to own.

This is that hacked up xpw I did a couple years ago with the hogged out transfers, windowed piston, and the .080" freeported exhaust floor. I recently went back in it and messed with the port timing a little bit. Put new crank seals, changed the carb, and backed the timing off to factory location. Now it seems to have that knock or rattle when idling. Can it please just be the starter pawls tapping? Lol
