Sounds like the timing is bumped and a little bit more compression.
It’s stock. I agree with you though. I can tell the stock timing is already aggressive enough to begin with. Wouldn’t recommend to anyone to advance it, unless they wanted popcorn. Stock compression seems decent, maybe 175ish.

This one was caught early, so it hadn't popped yet.

Too much timing advance is a cheap way to gain power. Ala jms crap.
Always better to concentrate on the saw as a whole package.
Like an orchestra, with everything working together as a whole.

I gutted the 9000 muffler much more and decided to see how close it was to a muffler modded 395. Never seen these two compared so I figured it would be interesting. 28” full comp 7 pin 3/8 in some frozen ash.
22.80 seconds.
20.85 seconds.... about two seconds difference. I’d say there close in torque, maybe a slight edge to the 9000 in torque. The 395 holds a bit more rpms in the cut. I’d like to compare them with a 42” .404 bar and see how close they are.
Pls make this test with 404 :)
Then we will see which one has more balls

I use my rear handle 201cm and 200 quite a bit, good little saws. I just sold a standard carb 201 rear handle, didn't plan on it as they aren't easy to find.
It took a ride to Australia.

That 201 would be nice. A friend locally has a ported MS241 and I really like it! It a nasty little booger!!

My 9010 is too' advanced and needs to be backed off. When I send it to Kevin to have Him check some things out, I will have Him to back off the timing, as I have popcorn under load right now.

That post was from the random picture thread lol.
They are handy a lot of times.
I have one of those too, nice running saw.
Get one or two of each :).

There was a test done a few years back. You'd be surprised at the results. If I remember correctly pump gas 87 octane made some impressive power. Better than high octane fuel.

A lot of it depends on your oil mix and ratio.

91 octane (ethanol free) + Echo Powerblend at 40:1

This is true ethanol free as the station doesn't even offer ethanol contaminated gasoline. They also sell offroad diesel and low sulfur on-road diesel.

No tree hugger fuels provided... :headbang:
