Brian,this is roughly what we would knock out on framing jobs out of cutoffs. Usually used plywood gussets at the top. The inverted "T" sets the angle right and you can splay the legs toward the ends to get a broader foot print.

That's the way I always made them.

The last one may be above my skill level ,the timber frame i can do though ,looks heavy as hell though .
I got some timber frame saw horse plans around here somewhere.


Well I thought I did. Got three timber framing books,not a sawhorse plan in any of them

I cut my Bed liner just a tad .... *pretty boy.....
Well.. I ...uh.. might have done that a couple times.lol My tailgate on the ford has gone through hell. It's caved in from throwing large logs on it and cut up from all kinds of saws. I have a chrome metal top protector on it and it is cut all up from saws and axes and about everything.lol
