I would like to run hydro to my shed someday, not anytime soon. Probly not this year. But was just wanting some opinions on best way to do so.
Now i just run a heavy extention cord and that dont produce enough amps to run my welders properly.
Just wanting some advise on best way to get propper power supply to shed.

Would i need a sub pannel?
What guage wire to run from house.
House is only a 100 amp service.
Lenth of wire from house to shed would probly be about 80 feet.

What amps should i be looking to get out ther to run the small 110 volt welders.

You only need a 20 amp circuit, that is 12/2 with ground. But it depends on the distance and how much load the panel is at now. A 100 amp panel is pretty small, but for a dedicated circuit you could go a little overkill on the wire at 10/2 with ground, and that would help for a longer distance. A standard 15amp circuit won’t do it

Pretty sure you can do an 80% sub off the main panel, not that you need that.
I'd do 220/240or whatever you call it if possible, a decent 220 welder is a lot smoother than a 120 if you happen to be able/decide to upgrade down the rd.
I have an extension cord out to my shed too, but once I build a barn I plan to have a much larger line running to that, right off the pole.

Any chance the shed would be closer to the meter than your house? You could put a breaker box under your meter. Run 10 2 ug with a 20 amp breaker.

You want cheap or very well done? The number 2 in conduit is the best but will cost more. Basically you are matching the house service.

10-2 ug can be direct buried and is probably going to be the cheapest way to go. It probably be enough to give suitable voltage at full current over that distance.
