My local has a nice one for 800

If it is a no manual safety model somebody will gladly buy it for asking price. They go for more than that on Gunbroker. Even the later safety versions go for $6-700.00. Would I spend that much if I were in the market for a .357 lever action right now? No, but I wouldn't sell the one I already have for $1000.00 or even $2000.00 either. My 1894 is easily the funnest gun in my whole arsenal and one of the most versatile too. If I ever get another new lever action it's going to be a Henry or Miroku made Winchester. My Henry .22 and Browning BLR (also made by Miroku) are just superb.

This is the good one...

I'm after a Henry too. I have the early Marlin 44 and would love the 357 to match but can't afford it (according to my wife;)) I will have to look at the miroku....

Miroku Winchesters are excellent but usually cost even more than nice JM Marlins. I think the Henry is the best value going today, my local guy sells them for around $600.00. Remlin 1894's are still $500.00. I wouldn't buy one unless I could inspect it first and I knew the seller would stand behind it, which my local guy does 100%.

So many drool-worthy guns to buy, so little income!

I have yet to lay my hands on a nice remlin. The ones I've held are not refined and strike me as low quality in every way. Henry is heavy but super nice.

Just looking at the local examples, it seems like the 336C and 1895 didn't suffer nearly as much as the 1894 and econo-336 did. I would say that Remlin knows that buyers of the former two are going to be alot more likely to complain than somebody who buys a 336A from cheapmart.

I want a 28 Nosler for a gun to shoot to a mile

I like your style, I have a 300 Weatherby myself and love it. It's not too bad to shoot. I just use it for my long range setup though.

They aren't too fun to shoot... I was going to build one but not after playing with a couple... So my new build as soon as I get my action is going to be a 338 edge for long ball!!!

What case is the 338 edge based off of or is it a new design. I don't believe that I've heard of that one.

I shoot an Armalite AR50 for my long range gun. At 40lbs, it's a good thing it has a lot of reach. You sure can't carry it very far.
It's fun to shoot. 30-06 class recoil.

Wow, do you reload for that thing? I actually like big bores, I just don't like big recoil!
Not yet. The equipment is stupid expensive and components aren't much better.
I bought several cans of surplus .50 cal ammo, back when it was less than a $1.00 a rd.......and before I ever considered getting a .50 cal rifle.
I don't shoot it much. The ammo I have for it are mostly APIT and spotter rounds. You gotta be careful not to start a fire. Spotter rounds are fun at night but you have the same concern.
It's definitely a crowd pleaser.

338 edge is a 300 Remington ultra mag necked up to 338. I’m not recoil sensitive so they don’t bother me. I’ve shot 40-50 rounds of 338 Lapua “, 60-80 300 WSM, and 200 plus 308 in one afternoon.
