Bout as good as it's getting. Now to make the rest fit. And check port timing.

Well this project may be on hold a bit. 371/044 pistons are a no go.

Have to make spacer for the jug to get them to fit. Was trying to avoid that. Cause of all the other mods required to make it work.

If the chamber/piston crown could get me the .130" I need. Then they are free porting that much.

I guess the jug is ready for a sleeve at least... may even take it back to 45mm just to see how the iron sleeve acts in a saw.

Sorry to disappoint. Not gonna have the time to do the required modification before hea ding back to work.

If someone knows of a shhorter piston than the 044 let me know.

I see no reason why an iron sleeve would not work just fine in a saw cylinder. It was the industry standard in high performance two-stroke engines in dirt bikes, ATC/Quads, and sleds for quite a long time until just in the last 10 or 15 years. I've seen it said that plated cylinders do cool a bit better though. Only thing I can think of that should be looked into is what piston ring material is best suited to run in an iron bore, but I'm confident you already are well aware of that. Might be just fine to run the normal rings that we run in the plated cylinders, I'm no expert on that subject.

Screw it. Well see if it will hold 52mm as i already have the sleeve material.

Waiting to hear the rattle of the top half of the jug rolling around in the fixture...
