I just bought two 13 oz. bottles of Red Armor. Literally walked next door to a Echo dealer/shop that I normally avoid. The price, with tax, worked out to 77 cents per oz. I will try it at 40:1 when I use up the fuel I have on hand. Hinerman posted that RA is semi-synthetic. I like that idea, based on another semi that I have run for decades.

You can always justify another saw.

Saws will continue to run sometimes with the ignition off if they're lean or running on nitro. I know I've seen it with 2 different saws.
I had this happen with a 250R 3 wheeler one time. I had installed a higher compression head and it ran out of gas (leaned it out) as I was testing it . Freaky when the kill switch doesn't work.

Duane, you've had a semi for decades? That's gotta be awkward. ;)

Just happened to me tonight on my 400 Polaris. Scared the crap out of me. I stuffed the muffler and it shut down. Not exciting after a $1000 rebuild.

When I’m done using up my Husky XP+ that I have on hand, I think I’m gonna go the RA route. Joe and I had a lengthy conversation about RA one night...he’s a firm believer in it.

Every day.
I've run it since it was shindaiwa red armor
I just ran out.
But the price has went from 8.99
For 6 2.5 gallon bottles
To 24.99 local
I was told the formula was changed.

I'm still using it. Is this the new or old stuff?

I've been using the Echo Powerblend based on a recommendation from guys on here as a more economical choice to the Red Armor. Someone on here (can't remember who) told me the Powerblend was just as good as the new recipe Red Armor.

Not sure how accurate that info is, but I like it at 40:1.

Yep, I solely use red armor at 45:1. I figured that's happy medium between 40 to 1 and 50 to 1. Ran an old 70e that was varnished from old gas, after a gallon of RA it was like new on the inside. That's what sold me
