Hard to say between those two, have to run em back to back. I personally like the 50mm oe better than the xpw even though it’s a tad more high strung. Xpw does have good torque with long bar. 572 does have more torque than a 50mm oe or xtorq though (stock vs stock).
Come to dans again in the spring and this can be arranged.

Everyone's different but in hand
How's it against a well ported 371/372
With a 28"
Compared to an equally ported 75cc 372, the 372 was ahead and felt lighter. I haven’t compared stock ones. I ran my 572 stock for a few hours, haha. I wish I had a stock one just to try again.

I posted these in my 572xp thread this summer, but I’ll post this here too.
stock 50 mm OE with muffler mod... 48.05 seconds.
stock 572xp with muffler mod same b/c... 45.93 seconds. Both saws broken in.

Is it ok to hate the sound of the 572? Lol!

An xtorq stacks up about the same against the 572.
Stock xtorq: 34.77 seconds.
Stock 572xp: 29.12 seconds.
Muffler modded 572xp: 27.95 seconds. I could push harder on the 572’s. Yes I should have been wearing chaps and I always do. Just a quick test in the log pile, wasn’t logging that day. Lol

How is the competition anyway? I've heard good and bad out of the woods so far.
It’s definitely different than the “old school” Stihls, but it’s doing well in my opinion. I’m running a 32 on it right now. It is muffler modded and timing advanced. The chip deflector is terrible in my opinion. The 572 is much better. But a very lightweight saw. I have the 462, 572, and 661 all in the strip right now. I have issues, lol.
