Do you realize how many have copied there safety design.havnt you ever heard of pre 64 mo. 70.
Haha...ya I'm familiar with both the 70 and 700. I will say that I am a fan of controlled round feed.

I was curious as to what other opinions or facts brought you to typing such a strong statement.

Much better rifle then 700 Remington and many others.

Shots fired! This is the oil thread equivalent on a gun forum. I’m an oddball as I like Browning bolt actions the best. We all have our reasons. I’m glad there’s so many choices. I wouldn’t refuse any of them :)

Like the previous op says we all have our reasons for what we like. Does that mean that it’s right or wrong because you I or another may disagree. I have my preferences as so do you. It don’t mean that I’m wrong or your wrong . I also have a sako and a tikka but for bolt guns I still prefer the model 70. For the record I never said you weren’t familiar with either. I simply stated that when you asked why I preferred them. I gave you a couple reasons why I do. I said that many others have copied there safety design and asked if you were familiar with the pre 64. which is a simple question. I didn’t get upset and go on the offense when you asked me a question. I simply answered. The pre 64 also happens to be a collectors item and ranked as one of the top bolt actin rifles in the world for a number of reasons . I happen to own several of them in many calibers. Thank you

I only wondered why you felt so strong about the 70.. just curious is all. Carry on:Saeufer:

I like both actions, but a typical gun builder chooses the 700 action most times. So that says something there.

I'm 30 miles from Douglas barrels
Might stop in when I decide on a rifle
It'll be .308
And I don't care what action or stock material
As long as I like it.

Tikka tac a1 in 6.5 creedmoor. This is my general shooting and PRS competition rifle. Shooting 139gr lapua scenars at 2725fps and averages 1/2 moa or better. Best 3 shot group was .18moa at 700yds. Got about 1400rds down it and going to be upgrading to a 26” barrel soon once this one gets a little more use.6E7D9A52-91CF-45A2-870D-AC79BD5D77CE.jpeg0209FD9A-1CB2-4600-9DB7-4E8A8B198B02.jpeg B4E9AB01-7EB0-4722-851C-D4F8C2F963E3.jpeg

New hunting rifle is a Piercision Rifles 300 Norma mag improved. Built on a kelblys action timed to a triggertech special set just above 1#. Proof carbon 26” 1:9 barrel, manners eh1 carbon fiber stock, Nightforce nxs 5.5-22x56 scope. Pictured below is a 300 Norma round and next to it is the case after it’s been fire formed. Still load developing but sending a 215gr berger at 3200fps yields groups around what you see below. Looking forward to smashing a bear this fall and hopefully a high country mule deer.E0E0BFC2-CB77-43A0-92F6-419D03EEAD33.jpegC6D53B5C-639E-41FB-8007-1AD49496C0CC.jpeg C66E0791-3B0C-4ABF-BFF9-2158FFBBC637.jpegD6217913-801C-45D8-AAA8-7BFD53C9A7BE.png

Sako trg 42 338 Lapua with nightforce 5.5-22x56 scope. Oldest rifle I have in the arsenal, finally shot out the factory barrel and am waiting it’s return with the new 30” barrel so I can go play with the ELR game again. Goal is to stretch it past 2000 yards as much as I can. 349C3DDA-E564-41D3-B297-6212B2166B12.jpegMorning I got my first bear with it at 500yds1D2ACCF0-1951-4C12-8DC8-39FDD838B1CC.jpeg1EC66985-AC06-46BB-86CF-1DFB047772EB.jpeg most recent before I shot the barrel out, ringing steel at 1930ydsCC081EF3-A7B2-4931-AD68-27B9294C119E.jpeg
